A Man in the Word

January 16, 2020

Let me talk to my ladies first. Never stop praying for your boyfriend, fiance, or husband. It’s great to go ahead and pray for the man you haven’t met yet, if you’re single. Get specific in your prayers, go into detail about what you want him to be and let God tend to the rest. He wants to answer prayers like that.

A man in the word brings out the best in his wife. One mo’ time, a man in the word brings out the best in his wife. If your lady gives you the side eye and hasn’t cooked you a hot supper in 3 months instead makes you a sandwich and leaves the wrapper on the cheese, chances are you aren’t bringing the best out in her. I’m kidding but, kind of serious.

Men, you aren’t naturally Godly and you can’t do it on your own strength. It takes fully surrendering to the lordship of Jesus Christ. To be Godly, you must have God, his spirit must live within you, it will empower you. “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. ” Galatians 2:20

Let me share a few ways a man brings out the best in us when he is Godly. He is wise, he honors you, he is gracious, he is faithful, he sharpens you, he offers good counsel, he controls his temper, he appreciates you, he treats you with respect.
Today the missing piece in marriage is God as the foundation. How can anything stand strong when the foundation is missing? It’s like a 2 legged stool, it will fall.

Encourage your husband, pray diligently for him.
Men, if you aren’t sure where to start here’s how:

  1. Love God more than you love her
  2. Be a spiritual leader
  3. Lead with humility
  4. Be a provider
  5. Have courage
  6. Love her biblically

Cliff Tate, after 13 years of diligent prayer is the leader, he is the Godly man of my dreams. He possess the qualities I’ve listed above. I am able to be the best because my helpmate is my helper not a hindrance.
I trust him, I fall on him, and I follow him because I know his steps are being guided by The Father.

Men, being Godly is hot. Next to watching him fold clothes nothing is hotter than when I walk by and he is nose deep in Gods word. That blows our hair back.

“Being a Christian isn’t for sissies. It takes a real man to live for God- a lot more man than to live for the devil.” -Johnny Cash
