When It Doesn’t Fit

Have you ever tried to make something work out and possibly even forcing it?

I pulled a pair of old jeans from the top of my closet sure that they would still fit. Even going so far as to have the shirt, shoes, and accessories laid out.

I got that right leg in…left leg next feeling pretty good at this point. Ok, time to button up…there was a good quarter inch between the button and hole. I busted out my three go-to stretching poses, 10 or so squats, sucked in real tight and got em’ or they got me, either way they were on. I was in hives and had a sweaty top lip but I was ready.

It could be a job, a friendship, current obligation, anything that is happening specific to your life that has been forced and isn’t quite fitting.

Only God can sustain you, heal you, and see you through this trial. He will guide you and help you when harm comes your way. People will hurt you, let you down, and cause you to stray. But if we turn to God, stay in the word, and call out in prayer then we will be able to have the strength to be spiritually ready for the unexpected storms.

No matter how hard you try to make it work, sometimes it just doesn’t fit and that’s ok. What the bible tells us is so comforting:

“I have set the Lord always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” Psalm 16:18

You will be ok.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap harvest IF we don’t give up. Galatians 6:9

He will take care of you.

“Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. Psalm 62:2

You are not alone.

Much like those pants everything and everyone doesn’t always fit but if we put our trust in The Lord and do the right thing, let Him be our guide, then His way is always the perfect fit.

  1. Love the jean thing! All that really counts is that you got em buttoned! We do not need to breathe as long as we look good!:)
