A Run in My Hose

A run in my hose

Nothing can ruin a good looking outfit for church like the velcro on kids dress shoes snagging a hole in my hose. I’ve always said if I could design kids dress shoes they would only have buttons & zippers.

What’s worse than a run and you don’t have clear polish to stop it? I’ll tell you, knowing your hose are torn clean up, you’re away from home, you didn’t put lotion on and you haven’t shaved in a week, so there you are stuck, falling apart…that’s worse.

What happens to a good pair of hose when they get a little tear? If you don’t stop it then next thing you know it has ripped from your knee to your ankle. Then your once put together duds suddenly look like you have no control whatsoever.

Is that also true in our lives? If we let one small thing continue to grow and not turn it over then it continues to grow and it will get bigger and worse, then it’s out of control.

We have a choice daily, do we try to control our lives or do we let God do it?
I don’t know what I’m going to face this week, you don’t either and that is ok. We shouldn’t doubt God’s ability to take care of us, our smallest issues, and our tomorrows.

He tells us here in one verse “Be still and know that I am God…” Psalm 46:10 and in Jeremiah 29:11 he says “for I know the plans I have for you, “declares the Lord,  “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

If we believe that is true then what is hindering us from having the ability to trust and give him control?

Get rid of the what ifs and what you think will or should happen, get rid of it.

We need to lose control.  Just like those panty hose took off and ran from here to yonder we need to lose control of what we think should be and let God take care of us.

  1. I can’t tell you how many times I have tried to take control of a situation, until 10 years ago when I found out I had breast cancer. I learned then I had to let go and let God. Yes, I did pray that it would go away cause I knew God can do anything he wants to do. God also told me thru a card my sister, Cindy gave me that “ this is for my glory”
Thank you for sharing this blog Sweet niece! We all need to remember that God will take care of us. That was a really bad hose run🙈!!!!!
